Today's Peace of Truth: You Can't Beat a Fire on the Beach!

Now that the sun has decided to shine for us, summer can actually begin! My friends and I kicked it off with a fire on Rye Beach this past weekend! It's the perfect way to enjoy the ocean at night. Everyone always thinks of the beach as a daytime destination, but you must remember it's evening beauty. In order to do this, you must get a permit from the Rye Fire Department, on the day you plan to have the fire. We were directed to Sawyer's Beach, which is past Jenness Beach, over a rocky bank. The stones we dug a hole in were perfectly smooth, an example of the power of the ocean tide. We gathered driftwood and started the fire, along with some other wood & kindling we had brought with us. Roasting marshmallows made our glowing faces smile even more. The tide was out, but that didn't stop us from running down to the water to dip our toes in! I highly recommend doing this when you see a nice day coming in the forecast!

*PS- You can't drink alcohol on the beach, but you don't need any influence for this activity--nature has enough entertainment!
