Today's Peace of Truth: Mother Earth Deserves a Little Love Today, and Every Day!

Happy Earth Day my friends!!! :)

As the raindrops sprinkle my face, I look around and see all the life it is creating. The grass is lush now and the Earth is happy. So share the love today and help mother Earth out any way you can! There are so many ways you can do this. When you put your mind to it, you can always figure out a way to be a more environmentally conscious person.

For starters, recycle! This is an easy one, and if you don't have a recycling program where you live, then start one! I did! You can write a letter to propose the idea to your landlord, and hopefully that will get the ball rolling. Remember to recycle, reuse, and use less at work, too. Don't use styrofoam cups or drink from plastic bottles, just bring a reusable water bottle and refill from the tap, (it's really not that bad). Don't idle your car excessive amounts, because it creates more harmful emissions that pollute the atmosphere and our breathing air, and also add to the global warming problem. If you live close to work, then don't even drive at all- walk or ride a bike! This promotes self health and a healthy earth! You can also use less electricity to decrease your carbon footprint. So, turn off the TV, let the sun heat your house, use the natural light a little more, take shorter showers and start thinking GREEN!

I'd like to encourage each and every one of you to go pick up some trash on the side of the road, do a little yard work and clean up around your house, or plant something- be it a vegetable garden, flower bed or just a few seeds in your window boxes--'tis the season! :) You can even plant a tree if you are feeling like a true tree hugger ;) ! When it comes time to eat, remember where your food comes from and the life it has given to be on your plate. Respect and really acknowledge what you are eating every day. Grains from the fields, animals from the farms, and fresh fruits and vegetables from the gardens and orchards of our country. You must consciously think of everything you do, see, eat, and affect, as you live your daily life. It is the only way that we will save our beautiful earth.

Happy Green Living!
