It has been a very rainy month here on New Hampshire's seacoast, but we must remember that we were fortunate. We did not experience the destructive tornadoes that plagued the midwest throughout the past couple weeks. Besides, when it's crummy outside, it urges us to come up with more creative things to do! I suggest picking up a hobby. Mine is photography! You can paint art for your walls or to sell, cook some new dishes or different cuisines, play board games, do some spring cleaning/organizing, work on an indoor project, plant some windowboxes, read about your interests or just for fun. The possiblities are endless. I also like to watch the new movies that come out. It's a way to escape everyday life and immerse yourself in another story. Books provide a similar experience, making your mind visualize the story. Music can be very therapeutic to the soul, as well. So don't get down from the drizzling weather, just get creative and use your imagination to add excitement to your life!
You could even throw a wine tasting party, or beer tasting for that matter. There are so many different brews these days that you can even be a connoisseur of beer! Try and pair your beverages with cheese, crackers, chocolates, dried fruits and various spreads. Invite your guests to bring over their favorite music, so you can eat, drink & be merry! Life is good, enjoy it! :)
There have been a few patches of sunshine in this storm, and when they appear, you should take full advantage of them by getting outside and soaking in some vitamin D! Go hiking, then hit the beach to cool off from the humidity and grill over a bonfire when the sun goes down! There couldn't be a better summer day!
